Thanks Mark. Looks like we both struck lucky with the flame top. Although Neo's is top class. And what about Tom's quintet of 59s - never seen anything like them. Fantastic.

Nice Starfire, what year is that? I have a newer one (in the center of my pic on the first page). Love those "G" tailpieces, too...but why is the pickguard so off-kilter on yours?

Don't know the Year but it looks old and it's Yellowed.

The Serial # is 199142.

So maybe a 1991.

The pickgaurd was lost by the original Owner

and he Tryed to make another one fit.

I took it off and might get one off of Ebay

Hard to tell, might depend on the prefix letters. Ever looked it up here:

Yes, that beauty deserves a proper Guild pickguard. :-)

That's one beautiful guitar RJLII, love the dark burst. All the guitars in this thread are awesome of course, I thought mine was special (and it is to me anyway) till I saw what you all have....I'll still post a pic though. When I take one. Till then I'm enjoying all the others on here. Thanks!

Very cool! Congratulations!

For those of you with reissues, notice the tall pickup surrounds on Sonny's '64. (C'mon, Gibson, get with the details.Z) Anyone know of a reasonable facsimile of these? They have the cream ones for the RI Les Pauls but I haven't seen them in black.

Oop's I did it again!

I was looking for a semi-hollow body guitar to compliment my les Paul.I had a played a few that where pretty good.I had played a Rick 360 and a Gretsch Country Club that was a pretty special guitar.Well I had a Rick on order for over 9 months.I found out that the order would not be completed for at least another 9 months.I was dejected. My friend at the music store had called me the next day and said "you have come and see what just arrived". I ran to the music store and to my surprise it was a gorgeous Figured top cherry red ES 335.

WOW! We checked it and it perfect the neck was straight,Binding was smooth no flaws. Then I plugged it in.......

SOLD!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to enjoy exploring the sounds.

Been meaning to post to this thread. sjl200 beat me to the punch with the first Beale Street Blue photo. Here's a quick iPhone shot of mine.

After I bought it I realized the serial number indicated production on my daughter's (and George Washington's) birthday. She can have it after I pass, but I'm planning on playing it for a long while yet.

L00 Blues King, J185EC Blues King Electro, J185 12 String, ES-335, LP, SG, GA5...
and the obligatory Telecaster (but hey, it's a fat Tele with a 490-R at the neck, so I consider it a distant Gibson cousin.)
