Hey, I am a Gibson Les Paul Studio owner and I would like to buy many more Gibson products. I have to ask why in the hell are they so expensive. I come from a family where my parents do not make a lot of income. How do you expect people to buy your products if they are so expensive? Currently I have 1800 dollars and I want to buy an Angus Young signature but it is way too expensive. If the prices were lower I can guarantee you, that I would be purchasing a lot more from you guys. So coming from a guy with not a lot of money and does not make a lot of money during the year, lower your prices PLEASE..... If you did I can guarantee you would sell twice the amount of product you do now. PLEASE listen to me. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2008 Gibson Les Paul Studio Fireburst 1971 Guild D35NT

for the same reason why Louis Vuitton bags are also expensive. the name of the BRAND! Besides if they weren't selling at all, I'm sure they would lower the prices.... take a look around this forum and you'll see many members having over 10 Gibsons! So it's not really a problem for Gibson... Saving up for a Gibson Les Paul Studio!!! Santa Gibson may be a little bit late this time!

You also have to think about inflation, supply and demand, cost of labor/materials/misc. other expenses, etc, etc, etc.
Not to mention that people make A LOT more money now, than they did 40+ years ago (when the average LP cost like $300, and the average household income was about $5,000 a year), so as people started making more money, everything got more and more expensive. It's simple economics.

If prices would have dropped repercussions on the quality of the instruments ... Out if we buy Gibson is for good quality of service, experience, wood, finishing, sound, playability comfort! That's why it's the best guitars in the worlld. I understand your problem but the only solution is for you to be patient and keep saving. And the day you have the money and you buy the signature Angus. This time you will remain alive in memory ... so it seems extraordinary guitar at this time you realize why the price is so high! I guitars cheaper but I can not find the same level of service. All things prestige has a price! Do not give up your dream friends. http://sites.google.com/site/autourdunrelflex/

I received a 1971 Guild D35NT from my Great Uncle who passed. I was wondering if it is a good guitar? _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2008 Gibson Les Paul Studio Fireburst 1971 Guild D35NT

Guild D35NT It's great! This guitar may have a nitro cellulose finish, it also looks like it may have a brazilian rosewood fretboard and bridge. It also has solid mahogany back and sides and a solid spruce top. It's a very good guitar, built like a tank, some say they're too heavy but that is a matter of preferance. http://sites.google.com/site/autourdunrelflex/

Gibsons Are Great, For A Good Guitar You Always Pay More, I Had 4 Gibsons A While Back And Loved Them, I Still Stock Up On Epiphones But Really, You get what you pay for, a good guitar.

Everything goes up in price. Had a Fender Jaguar (year 1968-70) I bought from a friend. Don't remember what happened to it. Paid $100 for it....ugggh! I had a few guitars in my life, picked them up then put them down for a couple of years at a time. I finally decided to play on a more regular basis, took the Guild D35NT out of the case, set in on stand in my bedroom and carried picks all the time. Play it every night now for a few years. I too want a nice Gibson but can't afford it right now. Kind of partial to the Casino Lennon had (sanded down from sunburst to natural), yeah I'm a bit sentimental, saw his last public performance with Elton John in 1974. At this point, can't really afford that either, next one down is the Dot (not the studio), I'd take it in an instant but would not sell the Guild for it, or for any other guitar for that matter. I couldn't say that just because the Dot is made by Gibson that it would sound as good as Gibson's top of the line but I'd work my way up the ladder eventually. I'm happy just to play anything that sounds good. When I can't afford to shop at Banana Republic there's usually a Gap right around the corner, same company!

I actually think for the most part they are very reasonably priced. There are some exceptions, like the historic and signature models that I have reservations about price wise, but you can walk out and buy a gigging pro sounding guitar for less than a grand. That is very fair in my opinion, You are looking at a minimum of £2000 for a concert worthy Classical guitar.
